Evaluation provides an opportunity for the SubManager to monitor the progress of the district’s substitute teachers as
they cover for absent permanent teachers with the intent to improve instruction. Providing feedback and ways of
improving teaching helps substitute teachers be more effective in the classroom.
Evaluation of substitute teachers can be conducted in a variety of ways.
Evaluation gives the central office and teachers the opportunity to give substitute teachers input on how to
improve their teaching skills. Substitute teachers have the opportunity to communicate any concerns and receive
feedback.
