Substitute Teaching Institute

Site Level

The three main components of site preparation at the site level (as outlined in the SubReady Principal Guide) are:

  • Instructional Preparation
  • Communication in the Classroom
  • Communication Outside the Classroom

Site preparation begins with the site administrator, with the administrator’s regard of substitute teachers influencing the overall climate experienced by substitute teachers assigned to the site. The next step is introducing the faculty and staff to the attributes of a SubFriendly site and developing a plan of action to ensure those attributes are a part of a site.
